Aba Sports Club Boss, Hails Gov Ikpeazu Over Road Infrastructures

The President, Abia Sports Club, Chief Jerry O. Kalu, has lauded the Abia state Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, (Ph.D), over massive construction of roads in Aba and other parts of the state.

Chief kalu who revealed this to newsmen in Aba, stated that the governor inherited a lot of infrastructural decay in Aba which stunted the economy.

In his words: “We were bottled up due to roads infrastructural decay. Before now, we can’t easily access neighbouring states like Akwa Ibom, Imo, Rivers states among others due to deplorable roads. Economic activities between Aba (Abia) and these neighbouring states almost came to a halt but today, the story has change courtesy of Gov. Ikpeazu’s frugal administration”.

The foremost business mogul noted with excitement that Aba has regained economic vibrancy owing to strategic roads construction by Gov. Ikpeazus led administration while expressing hope that other ongoing road projects like Umungansi/Abayi, Port-Harcourt, Obohia and Ngwa roads among others will further enhance the state economy.

“I have lived in Aba for 60 years and what we are seeing today is exactly what the former Governor of the old Imo State, Chief Sam Onunaka Mbakwe did. Gov. Ikpeazu is constructing durable roads, promoting Made-in-Aba products, investing in Human Capital Development, among others and these are note worthy”, he added.

He congratulated the State Governor on the recent National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) ranking which placed Abia third in Nigeria on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), describing it as a dint of hard work.

Chief Kalu who is also the deputy chairman, Aba Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), called on Abians in Nigeria and Daispora to stop demarketing Abia and invest in Abia, adding that the state has a serene environment for business to thrive.

Kalu, urged the governor not to be distracted but sustain his developmental strides and finish strong.
