In a bid to support rural road construction,Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has officially handed over six brand new earth -moving equipments of various categories procured by the State govenment to the Abia State Road Maintenance Agency (ABROMA).
Handing over the equipments to the new General Manager of ABROMA, Mr. Okali Okochi at Government House Umuahia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu charged him to give Abia people quality work of high standard.
The governor who disclosed that the equipments were procured with almost one billion naira to support road construction in the State,with special focus on rural roads,urged the General Manager of ABROMA to commence work immediately in the three senatorial zones of the state starting from Abia North.
He further directed the ABROMA chief him to work with the Ministry of Transport and make judicious use of the equipments as well as ensure their safety and assured the support of his governnent to the agency.
Responding, the General Manager ABROMA Mr. Okali Okochi thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in him adding that he sees the assignment as an examination for a better performance.
He assured that ABROMA would prove to be one of the leading agencies of government in the State through the task given to it by governnent.
