European champions Real Madrid will face Japanese side, Kashima Antlers in one of the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup taking place in the United Arab Emirates.
Both clubs met in the finals of the 2016 edition, which the European side won.
Kashima Antlers qualified for the semi-finals after they came from a goal down to beat CD Guadalajara, CONCACAF champions, 3-2.
Angel Zaldivar put the Mexican side in front on the third minute. Shortly after the break, Ryota Nagaki equalised for the Asians. Serginho converted a penalty on the 69th minute to give the men from Japan the lead.
Hiroki Abe made it 3-1 on the 84th minute. Hugo Leonardo’s own goal on the 94th minute was not enough to give the Mexicans any hope of a comeback.
The Japanese will now meet Real Madrid on Wednesday at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports Stadium.
