Methodist prelate blows hot: Ask Nigerians not to vote any Governor that owes salaries

The Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr Samuel Kanu Uche has charged Nigerians not to vote for any government that does not pay salaries or provide basic amenities for the people.

The prelate who made this known during a world press conference in Umuahia to mark the end of his Apostolic tour to the Archdiocese of Umuahia, said any government that does not care for the people should not be returned to power come 2019 except there is a change in their policies.

He said he does not support any political party but simply an advocate for a good governance, adding that government at all levels should focus at the needs of the people and in an occasion where they fail to do so,they should not be allowed to return come 2019.

The prelate said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),should ensure the elections are free and fair and guide against vote buying as well as the molestation of electorates.

The clergy while advocating for credible candidates with best policies to win across board, he charged the INEC against falsification of results, saying votes should be allowed to count.

Meanwhile, the Methodist Prelate decried the deplorable condition of some roads in the state,particularly at the Itumbuzo area, calling on the government to stretch its developmental agenda to the area.

He added that the way and manner refuse are littered in the state does not speak well of the state, urging the relevant authorities Incharge of the evacuation of refuse to sit up, so that the state can be clean.

His Eminence, however, charged Nigerians to be fair and upright,so as not to jeopardize the future of upcoming generations.
