UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Liverpool, Spurs Qualify

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs accomplished what seemed like ‘Mission Impossible’ by qualifying for the knockout round of the UEFA Champions League.

Mohamed Salah came to the rescue once again as his lone strike gave Jurgen Klopp’s men the victory of stubborn Napoli at the Amfield. This victory helped Liverpool finish second on group C with nine points behind Paris Saint Germain, who won the group with 11 points.

Napoli, though with same points as Liverpool will join the Europa League.

In group B, Spurs went to Nou Camp and held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw. Inter Milan’s failure to defeat PSV Eindhoven gave the English side the advantage of progressing while the Italian side will play in the Europa League.
