…Launches water, skills acquisition project
The General Manager Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Programme (CSDP) Chief Chinatu Njoku has congratulated members of Onurube Nwanne Gender and Vulnerable Group, Oparaoha Uratta Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, Abia State for being the first vulnerable group to benefit from the CSDP Micro-Project Assistance.

Chief Njoku said this during the group project launch and presentation of 1st Tranche of cheque of One million, One hundred and twenty one thousand, fifty naira, and thirty five kobo (1,121,050.35) only for the group’s water and skills acquisitions project by the Agency.
He revealed that Onurube Nwanne was the first vulnerable group in Abia state to benefit and receive assistance from the Agency.
While appreciating Oparaoha Community for their support in making show that the group scaled through the meticulous Vulnerable Group Investment Process, Chief Njoku called on them to use the money for the purpose it was meant for.

The CSDP boss stated that the Agency has also assisted and funded 164 micro-projects in 113 communities drawn from 13 local government areas of Abia state while 141 micro-projects have been completed.
He, however, thanked the amiable governor of Abia State Dr Okezie ikpeazu for fulfilling all the conditionalities for its effectiveness and his consistent support to the Agency.
Njoku called on them not to waiver in their support for the governor.
Earlier before the project launch and presentation of the cheque to the group, the Operations Manager Abia- CSDP Pastor Uka had sensitized the benefiting group and urged them to execute the project according to specifics.
He also urged them to give unrestricted access to all MDAs that would want to supervise the project including those in the Ministry of Co-operative, Rural Development and Poverty Reduction and Ministry of Women Affairs.
Appreciating Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Programme, Eze-elect of Oparaoha Autonomous Community, Sampson Azubuike Uhuaba thanked the Agency for the assistance.
Eze Uhuaba pledged the community’s resolve to support Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s re-election come 2019.
In their various speeches, the Facilitator of Onurube Nwanne Vulnerable Group, Mr. Charles Chinahuzo Njoku, the Chairman Mr. David Uchendu and the Community Secretary, Uche Alozie, said that their desire to have good drinking water and acquire skills that would help them to be self- Sustaining as vulnerable people necessitated their approach to Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Programme in 2017 for assistance which has become a reality.
They thanked the Governor for helping them actualize their dream through ABIA-CSDP.
In their goodwill messages, The Permanent Secretary Co-operative, Rural Development and Poverty Reduction Very Rev. Ernest Onyeukwu represented by the Director Community Development Mrs. Eguzikpe Rosemary and that of Women Affairs represented by the Desk Officer, Mr. Ezuruike Kenneth praised the General Manager Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Programme for his effort in making sure that CSDP meticulously discharged its responsibility.
They promised to continuously support him and Dr Okezie Ikpeazu’ administration in providing basic amities to rural communities and the Vulnerable groups.
In a vote of thanks, Senior Special Adviser to the governor on Public Relations, Hon Kingsley Nwankwo, while thanking the governor for paying the counterpart fund which led to the release of the grant to his community promised that the project would be completed in record time.
Hon Nwankwo Promised that Oparaoha Community would overwhelmingly vote Governor Ikpeazu and all the PDP candidates come 2019.
