Familiar foes will return to the trenches today, when the Super Falcons of Nigeria and the Bayana Bayana of South Africa clash in the finals of the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations.
Both teams met in the group stage and South Africa took all three points through Thembi Kgatlana’s solitary strike.
To qualify for the final, Nigeria defeated Cameroon 4-2 on penalties after full and extra time ended goalless while South Africa defeated Mali 2-0.
This is the fifth time both teams are meeting in the final of the Africa Women Cup of Nations and Nigeria have won all previous four encounters.
