Ighalo’s Brace Sink Libya

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are now top of group E of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after skipper Ahmed Musa, scored in between Odion Ighalo’s brace to defeat the hard fighting Libyan side 2-3 in Tunisia on Tuesday night.

With the Bafana Bafana of South Africa settling for a draw against Seychelles in Victoria earlier in the day, the Super Eagles had their destiny in their own hands and they grabbed it with both hands.

Odion Ighalo tapped in Ahmed Musa’s cross early in the first half. Ahmed Musa made it two and the Super Eagles were in control until the Libyans pulled one back before the break.

The Libyans sustained the pressure in the second half and got a well deserved equalizer, when the Super Eagles failed to clear the ball after Uzoho parried a shot.

But Ighalo dribbled a defender and fired past the Libyan goalkeeper to give Nigeria all the three points.
