Germany will host the Euro 2024 after they beat Turkey in a vote by UEFA’s Executive committee on Thursday.
The BBC reported that the two countries made final bid presentations before voting took place in Nyon, Switzerland.
Germany has never hosted the European flagship championship as a unified country. West Germany hosted the 1988 tournament.
It was a big disappointment for Turkey. It has never hosted a major international football tournament though it made attempts to host the Euros in 2008, 2012 and 2016 and failed, as well as the 2020 Summer Olympics.
