FG sets 10-member c’ttee for Ekwueme’s burial

The Federal Government has inaugurated a 10-member committee to plan a befitting state burial for former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme who recently died in a London Hospital at 85. Inaugurating the committee yesterday in Abuja, Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Mr Boss Mustapha who also chairs it eulogized Dr. Ekwueme as a personality, who has served his fatherland meritoriously. “The SGF assured the family members who are part of the committee that Dr. Ekwueme would be given a befitting state burial. “He told them that the Federal Government would foot the bill and the evacuation of the body from London hospital”, the statement added. Other members of the committee are the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN; Minister of Information and Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; Minister of Labour and Productivity, Sen. Chris N. Ngige; Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris and the Director General, Department of State Services DSS, Mallam Lawal Musa Daura. Others are the late leader’s son, Pastor Goodheart Ekwueme; Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Prof. Osita Chukwulobelu and the Perm Sec, General Services in the OSGF, Dr. Roy P. Ugo, who would serve as the Secretary.
