The Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture( UCCIMA),has commenced the allocation of exhibition spaces to participants for the Abia Domestic Trade Fair, tagged “Umuahia Expo 2026”, scheduled to hold from April 10 to April 19.
With the theme “Promoting Ease of Doing Business in Abia State”, the chamber noted that the initiative is part of its commitment to boosting economic activities and creating opportunities for businesses across the state.
Speaking with journalists in Umuahia, the 2026 Trade Fair Committee Chairman, Mazi Ben Nwankwo, disclosed that the event will take place at the BCA International Field. He described the fair as the first of its kind in the area, aimed at providing a robust platform for entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and service providers to showcase their products and services.
Mazi Nwankwo further explained that the expo is expected to attract participants from within and outside Abia State, offering opportunities for networking, partnerships, and business expansion.
He added that the trade fair would feature exhibitions, business-to-business engagements, and interactive sessions designed to enhance visibility for local enterprises and stimulate investment in the state.
The committee chairman assured prospective participants of a well-organized and secure environment, encouraging businesses yet to register to take advantage of the ongoing space allocation.
He emphasized that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to position Abia as a hub for commerce and industry, while also supporting government policies aimed at improving the ease of doing business.
The chamber reiterated its readiness to deliver a successful event that will not only promote local content but also drive sustainable economic growth in the state.
