Abia State Government has successfully concluded the second phase of its ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise, sparking excitement among applicants across the state.
Candidates who participated in the process expressed satisfaction after completing their examinations and interviews, describing the exercise as transparent and merit-driven.
Many of the applicants commended Governor Alex Otti for initiating what they called a credible process aimed at addressing unemployment while strengthening the education sector in the state.
One of the participants, Miss Glory Ogbonna, said the recruitment exercise has helped restore confidence in the system.
According to her, the process demonstrates the government’s commitment to fairness and equal opportunity for qualified applicants.
She added that the administration has, within a short period, given many residents a renewed sense of hope and inclusion.
“It is clear that there is a new Abia,” she said.
Another applicant, Miss Faith Israel, also expressed appreciation to the state government for its efforts to improve the school system through ongoing reforms and the recruitment of additional teachers into public schools.
Observers say the exercise forms part of broader efforts by the Abia State Government to reposition the education sector and expand employment opportunities for residents.
