Digital strategist, Ijere Seeks Abuja IYC Support for Spokesperson Bid

Digital strategist and Ijaw youth advocate, Johnmartins Ijere, has taken his consultation campaign to Abuja as part of his bid to emerge as the Worldwide Spokesperson of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC).

Ijere, an Ndoki-born Ijaw indigene, met with members of the council’s Abuja Chapter in the Federal Capital Territory, where he outlined his vision for strengthening the voice and visibility of the Ijaw nation both nationally and internationally.

Addressing stakeholders and youth leaders during the engagement, the aspirant said his ambition was driven by a commitment to promote unity among Ijaw youths while projecting the identity and interests of the ethnic group more effectively.

According to him, his aspiration goes beyond occupying office, as he intends to deploy his experience in digital strategy and communication to reposition the role of the IYC spokesperson into a more dynamic and impactful platform.

“This is the right time to sharpen and strengthen the Ijaw voice and present our story with clarity, pride and purpose,” Ijere said.

He also pledged to utilise modern communication tools and strategic engagement to amplify the concerns and contributions of Ijaw youths across Nigeria and in the diaspora.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Abuja Chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council, Emmanuel Dienma Abibo, commended the aspirant for engaging members of the chapter and presenting his vision.

Abibo assured that the chapter would ensure fairness and transparency in the process, providing a level playing field for all contestants seeking leadership positions within the council.

Ijere reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the interests of the Ijaw nation, noting that stronger communication and coordinated engagement are essential to strengthening the group’s presence in national discourse.
