NYSC Radio Gets Major Upgrade as NDDC Donates Equipment

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has donated modern broadcast equipment to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to support youth development and promote national unity.

The donation was presented during a handover ceremony held at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja. Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, said communication plays an important role in national growth and development. He explained that the commission is supporting NYSC Radio so it can reach more people and positively influence young Nigerians.

Dr. Ogbuku, who was represented by the Director of NDDC Liaison Office in Abuja, Mrs. Mary Nwaeke, said the commission always steps in when it identifies gaps in society. She added that NDDC provides support to strengthen institutions and improve the services they offer to the public.

The items donated include a modern inverter system, an energy-efficient radio transmitter, and the renovation of the radio studio to improve sound quality. These upgrades are expected to make the station more effective and reliable.

In his response, the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, thanked the NDDC for what he described as a timely and meaningful support. He said the equipment will improve broadcasting training for corps members and help the radio station run more smoothly.

Some corps members also expressed excitement about the new equipment, saying it will give them better learning opportunities and practical experience in broadcasting.

This partnership between NDDC and NYSC is expected to benefit young people and contribute to national development.
