NDDC Steps In to Assist Ogu-Bollo Community After Devastating Flood

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has given relief materials to the people of Ogu-Bollo community in Rivers State after the area was affected by serious flooding. The commission said this support shows its commitment to helping communities in the Niger Delta, especially during difficult times.

At the event where the items were shared, the Managing Director of NDDC, who was represented by the Director II of Education, Health and Social Services, Engr. Jeremiah Onolejoloni, said the commission understands the hardship people are facing. He explained that NDDC is working hard to support families and meet their basic needs.

He also said the relief materials were provided in partnership with the Derek and Davia Foundation. The items included food supplies such as rice, garri, and other essential household items to help families who lost their belongings to the flood.

According to him, the exercise is not just about sharing relief items, but also about showing that the government cares. He added that it is a way to support families going through hard times and to strengthen hope in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President of Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, the paramount ruler of Ogu-Bollo, Chief Joachim Amachiri, thanked the NDDC for coming to the aid of the community at the right time. He said the people are grateful for the support and promised that the community will continue to cooperate with the commission in its development efforts.

Some members of the community also expressed their appreciation, saying the items will help many families who were badly affected by the flood.

The NDDC assured the people that it will continue to stand by communities in times of need and will keep supporting development across the Niger Delta region.
