The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has extended felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Governor Otti described the Eid-el-Fitr celebration as more than a period of festivity, urging the Muslim faithful to embrace its deeper spiritual significance.
He stated that the celebration is “not just a period of celebration, but also a period of deep reflection of the importance of the season”, and encouraged Muslims across the country to fully explore the essence of the occasion.
The Governor further called on adherents of Islam to use the opportunity of the holy celebration to renew their faith and strengthen their relationship with Allah, while also imbibing virtues that promote peace, unity and security in the country.
Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding religious freedom in Abia State, stressing that his government would continue to treat all religious groups fairly and equitably as a pathway to peaceful coexistence.
On behalf of the First Lady, Mrs Priscilla Chidinma Otti, as well as the government and people of Abia State, the Governor wished the Muslim community a joyful Eid-el-Fitr celebration and expressed hope for better days ahead for the nation.
