The General Manager of the Abia State Debt Management Office, Dr. Kingsley Nwaigburu, has said that the enduring legacy of excellence of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), will remain pivotal in shaping the direction, innovation and global relevance of its Business School.
Dr. Nwaigburu made the assertion while delivering his goodwill message at his inauguration as a statutory member of the Board of the MOUAU Business School, alongside other eminent academias and industry professionals, promising to deliver effectively in the board.

According to him, his experience spanning academia, entrepreneurship, and leadership will drive meaningful impact and strategic growth in the school.
Nwaigburu reassured the leadership and students of the institution of the continued support of the Abia State Government under Governor Alex Otti, pledging to deploy his expertise and resources to provide strategic guidance that would drive sustainable growth and enhance the school’s global visibility and reputation.

The Abia Debt Management Office boss, further expressed optimism about the state’s financial outlook, stating that Abia would be debt-free by the end of 2026, describing Governor Otti as a mentor whose influence on his academic and political journey remains indelible, while appreciating leaders and members of the Dr. Alex Otti Vanguard for Continuity for their solidarity and support.

In an interview shortly after the event, Dr. Nwaigburu commended the Vice-Chancellor for his leadership, expressing confidence that the MOUAU Business School would become a project of pride within the next three years.
“We will build it to be one of the best institutions on the global map. Everybody should rise to the challenge to make the Business School a centre of entrepreneurship in the South East”, he said.

He also promised to bring his advisory, financial, transformational and mentorship experience to bear, noting that his 13 years in the classroom would strengthen his mentorship role on the board.

Earlier during the reception, the Chairman of the Dr. Alex Otti Vanguard for Continuity, Chief Innocent Nwogwugwu, alongside Dr. Amarachi Eneogwe and Lady Bertha Ehumadu, described Dr. Nwaigburu as a reliable, resourceful and benevolent academic and politician. They lauded the Senate and Governing Council of MOUAU for finding him worthy to serve on the Board of its Business School.
