Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti

Otti Reaffirms Commitment To Quality Governance, Says Abia Must “Get It Right Or Not Do It at All”

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering quality governance, declaring that his government would rather delay projects than execute them without proper planning.

Governor Otti gave the assurance at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, St. Silas Anglican Church, Amapu, during the funeral service of late Mrs Comfort Omanma Ukah who was laid to rest on Thursday.

The Governor further assured Abians of his administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy through efficient, transparent and people-centred governance.

For us in Abia, it’s either we get it right or we don’t do it at all. So, some of the things you see that we have not gotten to, is because we are planning”, the Governor said.

He highlighted his administration’s methodical approach to investment and infrastructure renewal and disclosed that it took nearly two years of planning to secure the partnership that brought Radisson Blu to Aba for the reconstruction of the historic Enyimba Hotel, which was flagged off earlier in the week.

It took us about two years to conclude the planning to bring in Radisson Blu into Aba to reconstruct Enyimba Hotel which had just been flagged off about two days ago.

So, there is a lot of plans being cooked… there’s a whole lot that we have in stock for our people in Abia State”, he declared.

Governor Otti paid glowing tribute to the deceased, whom he described as a woman who lived a fulfilled life challenged the congregation to examine their spiritual lives.

The Governor acknowledged the role of the Anglican Church in what he described as his eight-year struggle to “liberate” Abia State, and thanked the Archbishop of the Diocese, Isaac Nwaobia, for his steadfast spiritual support.

“I will like to also use this opportunity to publicly thank the Archbishop. The Archbishop was a prayer partner in the 8 years when we struggled to serve our people.

Sometimes, he will drive in unannounced. Sometimes 8:PM, he will come and pray with us. He led other fathers of faith to declare that enough was enough in Abia State.

“Before you saw what happened in the physical realm, it had already been concluded in the spiritual realm. So, we do not take anything for granted”, the Governor said.
