The Acting National Union of Ndoki Students (NUNS) on February 11, 2026, carried out a school outreach programme at Government Secondary School, Azumini-Ndoki. The visit was part of the union’s efforts to guide, educate, and support students in the community.
The outreach team was led by the President, Comr. Nwaubani Prince Nwabueze, and the Acting Secretary, Comr. Julius Victoria Nkechinyere, together with other executive members. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the students to the activities and vision of NUNS and to teach them the importance of personal hygiene and responsible citizenship.
In his address, Comr. Nwabueze explained that NUNS was created to unite Ndoki students and promote educational development. He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, avoid negative influences, and work hard to achieve their goals. He assured them that NUNS would continue to support programmes that add value to their academic and personal growth.
Comr. Victoria Nkechinyere spoke on the topic “Cleanliness and Personal Hygiene.” She explained that keeping the body clean, wearing neat clothes, washing hands regularly, and maintaining a clean environment are important ways to prevent sickness. She reminded the students that good hygiene habits help them stay healthy and confident.
To make the event more interactive, the union organized a quiz competition for the students. Those who answered questions correctly were rewarded, and prizes were given to the students who came first, second, and third. The activity created excitement and encouraged active participation among the students.
Mr. Chizobem Opiah also addressed the students on the importance of having a Permanent Voter Card (PVC). He encouraged those who are 18 years and above to register and obtain their PVCs. According to him, voting is a civic responsibility, and young people must take part in choosing leaders who will shape their future.
As part of the outreach, writing materials were distributed to students to support their studies. Sanitation materials were also given to different classes to help them maintain a clean and healthy school environment.
The Principal of Government Secondary School, Azumini-Ndoki, expressed her gratitude to the NUNS team for the visit. She commended the union for remembering the school and for bringing encouragement and useful support to the students. She noted that such programmes help to inspire students and promote positive values in the school.
