ASCETA Launches ‘Every Sunday, One Staff, Two Students’ Admission Campaign

Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu (ASCETA), has launched a community-based admission outreach initiative aimed at expanding access to higher education across Arochukwu and beyond.

The initiative, tagged; “Every Sunday – One Staff, Two Students Campaign: Fishers of Students,” is being spearheaded by the College’s Admission Drive Team (AADT) under the leadership of Dr. Usuka E. Isaac, Ph.D., CLN.

As part of the campaign, members of the team visited several churches including Christ Apostolic Church, Obinkita; Redeemed Christian Church of God, Obinkita; The Apostolic Church, Oron; and Presbyterian Church of God, Amanangwu. Other team members simultaneously carried out similar outreach activities in Aba, engaging congregations and sensitising them to the institution’s admission opportunities.

The team received warm receptions from pastors, priests and worshippers at the various churches visited. Congregants commended the college’s proactive engagement and expressed strong interest in enrolling at ASCETA, while many parents pledged support for their children and wards to pursue higher education at the institution.

One of the congregants described the outreach as timely and impactful, noting that it had been a long time since the community witnessed such a direct educational mobilisation effort.

The campaign’s impact has continued to spread, with more than six churches in Alayi and Umuahia reportedly announcing ASCETA’s admission opportunities during their services, further broadening the reach of the initiative.

According to the college, the campaign aligns with the directive of the Provost, Prof. Idowu O. Eluwa, and supports the education transformation agenda of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

ASCETA described the outreach as part of its commitment to promoting accessible, quality and skill-oriented education, while calling on staff and stakeholders to key into the “One Staff, Two Students” vision to boost enrolment and community participation.

The institution reaffirmed its dedication to practical knowledge, innovation and societal transformation, urging prospective students and parents to take advantage of its admission opportunities.
