The Ministry of Power and Public Utilities wishes to draw the attention of the public to the false and misleading information making the rounds on Facebook and other social media platforms, claiming that the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has procured 1,000 transformers to electrify communities across the state.
The Ministry hereby states categorically that the information is not true and did not originate from the Abia State Government or the Ministry of Power and Public Utilities.
Please note that the Ministry has not at any time announced or confirmed the procurement of 1,000 transformers as claimed in the publications.
The public is therefore advised to disregard the information in its entirety, as it is false and misleading.
The Ministry remains committed to keeping Abia residents properly informed on all genuine policies, projects, and interventions in the power sector through official government communication channels.
The public is hereby encouraged to always verify information relating to government activities from credible and authorized sources before sharing.
