Lady Fubara Hails Rivers Women For Championing Peace, Progress

Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, has applauded the resilience, solidarity, and impactful contributions of women to the peace and development of Rivers State.

She gave the commendation at the second edition of Women Converge, a special programme organised by Rivers Women Unite for SIM, held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.

Lady Fubara acknowledged the continued positive influence of women through their prayers and collective efforts, especially their steadfast support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“Once again, let me use this occasion to thank Rivers women for their support—both in prayers and in solidarity with me and my family. You have been wonderful. I cannot personally reward all that you do, but God in heaven, who sees in secret, will surely reward you openly,” she said.

Describing the event as another step toward shaping society for good, she urged women to remain prayerful and united, noting that endeavours rooted in faith and trust in God are bound to succeed.

She highlighted the theme of the event, The Woman in an Evolving World, as timely and reflective of the need for women to adopt strategies to navigate today’s rapidly changing realities. Despite economic pressures, she said, women continue to demonstrate exceptional resilience across all sectors.

“This Converge underscores the resilience of our women to succeed, no matter the odds—especially with absolute faith in God and determination for greater accomplishments,” she noted.

Goodwill messages from several distinguished Rivers women reaffirmed their optimism for sustained peace and development in the state, as well as their support for the Fubara administration.

Notable personalities at the event included former Commissioner for Environment, Prof. Roseline Konya; activist Lady AnnKio Briggs; Dame Dr. Christie Toby; PHCCIMA President, Dr. Chinyere Nwoga; keynote speaker Pastor Eno Jerry Eze; Apostle Opuaya Biminiayefie Agha; Dr. Richard Okoye; Dr. Jake Epelle; and Pastor Mrs. Ene Secondus, among others.
