The road rehabilitation project done on Ohanku Road is one of several road rehabilitation initiatives undertaken by the Abia State government under Governor Alex Otti. The project aims to improve connectivity, ease traffic flow, and boost economic activity in the region. The road has been fully rebuilt with modern amenities, including solar-powered street lighting.
President Tinubu officially commissioned the Ohanku Road on October 3, 2025, in Aba, Abia State. The residents turned out in mass to welcome Mr. President and his entourage, among whom were Lady Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State for Labour, and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, to mention but a few.
The tricycle operators and other motorists were not left out; they thanked the Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, for coming to their aid, thereby making the road passable.
