Speaking with State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with the President, Fubara said it was necessary to notify the nation’s leader of his resumption of duties after six months of suspension.

“You are aware the suspension was lifted midnight of September 17 and I came in on September 19. Ideally, it is proper for me to see Mr. President and brief him that I am back and have resumed my responsibilities as governor of Rivers State,” he explained.
