Bournemouth had enough vitality at the Vitality Stadium to defeat Brighton in a cagy encounter.
The hosts struck first through Alex Scott, after good hold-up play from Antoine Semenyo.
Early injuries to Jack Hinshelwood and Maxim de Cuyper unsettled the visitors, but they improved after the break and equalised when Kaoru Mitoma rose unmarked at the far post to head in Yankuba Minteh’s cross.
Bournemouth regained the lead when Semenyo converted from the penalty spot after Evanilson was fouled by Jan Paul van Hecke. Bournemouth held on to grab all three points.
