The Abia State Police Command, in its continuous fight against unprofessional conduct and in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to build a competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant and people-friendly Police Force, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has ordered the disbandment of the Quick Intervention Unit (QIU) over issues of unprofessional misconduct.
This is to strengthen operational efficiency. In view of this goal, the Command has established a new tactical unit — Strike Force — commanded by DSP Eze Augustine Eke, as an Intervention Team. The unit comprises well-trained, disciplined, and combat-ready officers strategically deployed as an additional tactical team to combat crime in the state.
The Commissioner of Police charged the newly inaugurated team to uphold professionalism, remain disciplined, and ensure strict compliance with the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
CP Danladi reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to professionalism in the discharge of the constitutional mandate of the Force in line with the vision of the IGP.
