Dr. Obinna Okorie Hails Ude Oko Chukwu’s Defection to Labour Party
The President and Founder of the Dr. Obinna Okorie Foundation, Chief Obinna Michael Okorie, PhD, has applauded the former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, following his official defection to the Labour Party.
The high-profile event took place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Etitiama Primary School, Nkporo, and was presided over by the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.
In a goodwill message delivered at the ceremony, Dr. Okorie commended Oko Chukwu for what he described as a bold and commendable move to join a progressive political movement. He noted that the defection reflects the growing confidence in Governor Otti’s leadership, which he praised for its “visible and monumental development strides” across the state.
Dr. Okorie, who is currently based in the United Kingdom, also lauded Governor Otti’s administration for its transformative leadership, describing it as both inspiring and a model for good governance.
Representing Dr. Okorie at the event was a delegation from his foundation, led by its Coordinator, Hon. Chiagozie Egbu, MNYP.
