Algeria and Uganda are through to the quarter finals of the ongoing African Nations Championship after last round of matches in Group C saw both sides securing a draw.
Algeria secured a 0-0 draw with Niger in Nairobi — a result that saw them through.
Algeria came into the final group fixture knowing a single point would be sufficient, but they had to get that single point with a lot of difficulty as Niger proved to be a hard nut to crack.
Similarly, Uganda’s thrilling 3-3 draw with South Africa in the other Group C match ensured they finished top of the pool on seven points, with Algeria second on six.
