60 newly promoted officers of the Abia State Police Command comprising Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) Inspectors, and other rank-and-files at the Command have been decorated with their new ranks by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa.

The event held at Officers Mess, Umuahia, also coincided with the monthly strategic officers conference of the CP with Area Commanders, DPOs, Tactical Teams Commander, HODS and other senior officers of the command featured a featured a session on Life After Retirement by the Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration, ACP Enahoro George, and the Pension Officer of the Command.

The CP, in his lecture, commended the officers for their dedication and relentless efforts, particularly the tactical teams and cknowledged the significant achievements recorded by the Command which he attributed to professionalism and resilience of officers of the Command.

He lectured officers on the key points from the recent concluded IGP’s conference, which includes professionalism, integrity, intelligence-led policing, and timely response to security matters. Attention was also drawn to the improvement on the welfare of retired police officers, performance evaluation, and the need to uphold confidentiality of official documents.

He further urged the officers to take care of their physical and mental health, increase intelligence gathering efforts, and avoid unprofessional practices such as unnecessary inspection of vehicle particulars with the view to extorting money from unsuspecting victims.

CP Isa warned against over-detention, corruption, and other forms of misconduct and called on HODs to properly supervise their subordinates and monitor their AORs, ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties across the state.
