Ikwuano Local Government Area have emerged the champions of the second edition of the Abia State Governor’s Secondary Schools Unity Games with a total of 131 medals.
After four days of fierce contest in 28 sports at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Ikwuano won 45 gold, 45 silver and 41 bronze medals to emerge champions and thereby dethrone Umuahia North, the winners of the inaugural edition.
Umunneochi came second with 26 gold, 21 silver and 27 bronze medals. Umuahia North saw their crown taken away from them as they finished third, with 24 gold, 10 silver and 17 bronze medals.
All the Local Government Areas had a podium finish with Arochukwu coming last with one gold, three silver and nine bronze medal.
