Abia Community Jubilates As Dr Chukwu Donates Educational Equipment, Unveils Endowment

It was a day of celebration and renewed hope in Amuda community, Umunneochi Local Government Area (LGA), Abia State as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu donated some educational materials to enhance teaching and learning.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Divine Intellectual Academy of Trinity Methodist Church, Amuda, Isuochi, yesterday (Saturday 26th July, 2025), Dr. Chukwu underscored the central role of education in national development, stressing that no country can progress beyond the strength of its educational system.

Dr. Chukwu disclosed that the essence of the donation is to complement the investment of Gov. Alex Otti, OFR to reposition the education sector at all levels, maintaining that no nation can rise above the quality of its education.

In his words: “These children are the future engineers, doctors, teachers, and leaders of this nation. We owe it to them to build a solid foundation. Education is the most powerful vehicle for transforming societies.”

Dr. Chukwu, founder of The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, also congratulated the graduands for making it to this phase of their academic pursuits, enjoining them to shun acts capable of undermining their studies.

Items donated by Dr. Chukwu include: a plasma television set, 50 graduation gowns, and a new playground swing set for the school.

Chukwu also launched a permanent educational endowment fund to support outstanding but indigent students.

In his remarks, the Proprietor of the school, Very Rev. Chidi Ohadugha, expressed gratitude for the support, describing it as timely and transformative.

“This is more than a donation—it is an investment in the future of Amuda. Dr. Chukwu’s unwavering support will leave a lasting impact not only on these children but on our entire community,” he said.

Contributing, the Councillor of Amuda Ward, Hon. David Mba, who represented the Chairman of the occasion, Arch. Daniel Uwaezuoke, lauded Dr. Chukwu’s gesture as a model of responsive and visionary leadership even as he supported the graduands and the school with cash prizes and awards.

“True leadership is measured by action. Dr. Chukwu’s efforts reflect the government’s broader mission to uplift our communities, one school at a time,” he remarked on behalf of the chairman.

In her vote of thanks, the Head Girl, Miss Ogechi Uzoma, thanked Dr. Chukwu for the gesture.

She pledged on behalf of her peers to continue striving for excellence and to uphold the values instilled in them by the school.

The event culminated in the cutting of the graduation cake and the presentation of prizes and awards to deserving learners.

The joyful atmosphere was enhanced by the presence of community members, including women’s groups, youth leaders, elders, and supporters of Dr. Chukwu, who all came to witness the landmark occasion.

Highlights of the event, include cultural performances, traditional dances, debates, quizzes, and displays of academic excellence by the graduating Nursery Three and Primary Six pupils.
