The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has expressed deep sadness over the death of the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government and the family of the late former president.
Governor Otti described the passing of the former president as a huge loss to the nation, urging his family and loved ones to bear the loss with fortitude.
The Governor, on behalf of his family and the people of Abia State, prayed for the peaceful repose of the former president’s soul and called on Nigerians to remember the Buhari family in their prayers during this period of mourning.
The late President Buhari who died in a London Hospital aged 82, served as Nigeria’s head of state from 2015 to 2023. He was the Military Head of State from 31st December 1983 to 27th August 1985.
