Kingsley Ogu Commends Leaders for Resolving Rivers Political Crisis

The Convener of the Enforcers of Good Governance, Dr. Kingsley Ogu has lauded the successful resolution of the recent political crisis in Rivers State, describing it as the dawn of a new chapter marked by peace, unity, and purposeful governance.

In a release he personally signed and made available to newsmen, Dr. Ogu expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for what he termed a “timely and decisive intervention” that brought stability back to the state.

He also acknowledged the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, for playing a vital “fatherly role” in facilitating a peaceful settlement.

Dr. Ogu extended his gratitude to the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, and his deputy, Her Excellency Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, praising their “courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment” to the welfare of the people. “Your bravery in the face of adversity has served as a beacon of hope for all who desire good governance and accountability,” he said.

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, and his colleagues were also commended for “rising to the occasion and giving peace a chance.”

Dr. Ogu emphasized that Rivers State is now back on course, united and focused on the shared vision of prosperity and inclusive governance. He called on citizens and stakeholders to continue upholding the values of peace, dialogue, and collective responsibility.

“Long live Rivers State. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement further reads.
