Protect the Precious Foundation, a non-governmental organization committed to promoting the rights, empowerment, and well-being of women and the girl-child, has congratulated its Lead Person, Norah Nneoma Okafor, on her recent appointment as one of the 500 Girls and Women Speak Ambassadors globally.
The honour, according to the Foundation, is a recognition of Okafor’s consistent and passionate advocacy for the rights of the girl-child and her commitment to dismantling negative norms, stereotypes, and practices that limit the potential of women and girls, particularly in Abia State.
The 500 Girls and Women Speak initiative is a global platform committed to showcasing the voices, leadership, and advocacy efforts of young women leaders driving social transformation and gender equality across communities.
In a statement signed by the Foundation’s Research and Communications Officer, Ijeoma Ogwurumba, the organisation described the appointment as well-deserved and timely, noting that it would further energise efforts to amplify the voices of women and girls in the state and beyond.
“This incredible honour recognizes her unwavering dedication to speaking up for the girl-child, changing the narrative on negative norms and stereotypes, her doggedness in advocacy and commitment to empowering women and girls across Abia State.
“We are confidence that Norah Okafor would use her new platform to inspire wider movements that protect the rights, well-being, and empowerment of women and girls, while fostering a society free from gender-based violence and discrimination.

The Foundation wished Okafor the best in her new ambassadorial role, expressing optimism that her efforts would lead to “greater meaningful change and more achievements” in the advocacy for women’s and girls’ rights.
