Abia state deputy governor Engr Ikechukwu Emetu has assured Abia citizens that Alex Otti’s administration was committed to the provision of quality education to every Abia child.
In a release by the deputy governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebrations in the state, said that Governor Alex Otti is dedicated to creating a conducive educational atmosphere for school children.
He said that the government has achieved great milestones in the educational sector with the implementation of free compulsory education from basic primary to secondary levels in all government schools.
Engr Emetu also noted that the retrofitting of dilapidated government school buildings had created better learning environment, emphasising that government’s vision was to set educational standards through digital literacy to enable students compete effectively with their peers across the country.
While wishing Abia children a memorable children’s day celebration, Engr Emetu revealed that the government has promised to establish more smart schools across the state to provide students with opportunities to experience quality education.
According to him, this initiative was part of the government’s efforts to improve the educational sector and equipped the students with the necessary skills to succeed in life.
