In a landmark meeting aimed at fostering peace and development in the Ohaobu and Akirika Ndoki communities of Akwa Ibom and Abia States, the President General of the Ndoki Union, Rev. Felix Akara, led community stakeholders to a high-level engagement with His Royal Majesty, Apostle Chibuzo Gift Chinyere, founder of OPM and an esteemed Ndoki son.
Held at the King’s office in God’s Heritage, Port Harcourt, the dialogue focused on the longstanding challenges faced by the Ohaobu community—including infrastructural decay, spiritual unrest, chieftaincy disputes, and ethnic marginalization. The leaders passionately appealed to the Royal Father to leverage his influence and philanthropic reach to intervene.
Rev. Akara, in his remarks, emphasized the historical neglect and cultural erasure experienced by Ohaobu, including attempts by the Akwa Ibom State Government to rename the community, thus eroding its Ndoki identity.
Visibly moved by the community’s plight, Apostle Chibuzo Chinyere stressed the need for unity and peace as prerequisites for progress. “There can be no development in an atmosphere of hatred and division,” he declared. He urged the stakeholders to commit to reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
In a historic moment, the Apostle announced a major donation—a Tuition-Free School to be built in Ohaobu. He immediately commissioned his team of engineers to proceed to the site within days for project assessment and community needs analysis.
The community heads, overwhelmed with joy, reconciled among themselves and pledged to uphold peace going forward, marking a turning point in the community’s turbulent history.
In a related development the same day, Rev. Akara also led a delegation from Akirika Ndoki, led by Barr. Okechukwu Nnah, to seek the King’s intervention in a boundary-related dispute over road construction between Abia and Akwa Ibom communities. The dispute has escalated tensions and triggered security concerns in the area.
The Royal Majesty assured the delegation of his willingness to mediate and also to reach out to Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, to seek governmental intervention in restoring peace and security.
These diplomatic and philanthropic interventions mark a hopeful chapter for the Ndoki people as efforts toward healing, unity, and development continue under the leadership of Rev. Akara and the benevolence of His Royal Majesty, Apostle Chibuzo Gift Chinyere.
