Gov Otti Announces Acquisition Of Aba Mega Mall, Assures Rapid Development

The Abia State Government has taken full ownership of the Aba Mega Mall, located in Osisioma Local Government Area, after settling all outstanding obligations to stakeholders with vested interests in the facility.

Governor Alex Otti, announced the government’s successful acquisition of the strategically located mall on Sunday, May 4, during the grand finale of a three-day Mega Crusade organized by the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, held at the mall complex.

Governor Otti disclosed that the mall, which had been embroiled in ownership disputes and remained unused for years despite substantial private investment, has now reverted to the State state following a peaceful resolution.

“I want to say that the place where you are, before now, there was a dispute. But just about three weeks ago, we resolved the dispute, paid off everybody that was being owed, and the place has reverted to the State Government”, Gov Otti stated.

He emphasized that no force was applied in the takeover of the mall, which has been lying fallow for many years after huge investments were made by the former investors who engaged with the previous administrations.

“We didn’t want to use force. We called all of them…how much are you being owed, we paid all, even paid their bankers.

“So this place has become full property of Abia State Government”, the Governor declared.

Governor Otti assured that the once-abandoned property, with its significant landmass, would soon be put to meaningful use in line with his administration’s development agenda.

“Those of you who know how Abia State Government works today, if you come back here in a few months, you would know that this place belongs to the State Government”, he added.

The Governor also reassured the congregation that the transformation underway in Abia was only a glimpse of greater developments to come, a sentiment that drew enthusiastic affirmation from the audience.
