The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isah has described the State’s Security situation as peaceful following strategic operations by the various Security agencies in the State to maintain law and order as well as secure lives and property of residents.
CP Isah stated this at Nvosi Isialangwa South LGA after arising from a Security Council Meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti which had in attendance top Security officials from the various Security Agencies in the State.
The Commissioner emphasized that the purpose of the Meeting was an appraisal of the Security situation in the State.
He noted that the Security meeting held in November led to Special Security Operations across Aba, Umuahia, and other Local Government Areas of the State during the Yuletide which he noted ensured a peaceful Festive season.
“As you witnessed, with the Special Operations that we carried out both in Aba, Umuahia, and all area councils, we had relative peace. People came in for Christmas and new year celebrations and there was relative peace”, CP Isah stated.
The Commissioner assured that the Police Command would continue to collaborate with other Sister Security Agencies in the State protect lives and property of residents.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with Security Agencies, noting that the Command remains steadfast in its efforts to ensure peace and Security across the State.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, MacDonald Ubah (rtd) reaffirmed the present administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property of Abia residents.
He described the Security Meeting as part of the State Government’s proactive approach to maintain law and order in the State.
“This is a monthly meeting that his Excellency the Executive Governor of Abia State normally holds.
“It is in furtherance of all the Security measures that has so far been emplaced that is securing Abia State as it is”, Ubah noted.
Commenting on the recent killing of a businessman from Arochukwu on his way back to the State, Ubah assured that Security Agencies are actively investigating the matter.
“All hands are on deck to unravel that incident and investigation are ongoing. Whenever we have results, it will be made public“, he stated.
