Abia PDP Finally Evicts BOT Chairman Wabara, Seeks Replacement

The State Working Committee (SWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),in Abia State, has expelled the Party’s Board of Trustee Chairman, calling on the PDP National body to urgently appoint an acting BoT Chairman.
Recall, that the Abia Party executive had previously suspended the former Abia South Senator and BoT chairman, Sen Adolphus Wabara for one month, due to alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
Following an emergency meeting presided by the Abia PDP Chairman,Elder Abraham Amah at the Party’s State Secretariat in Umuahia, the Party, after reviewing the Disciplinary Committee’s report on allegations of indiscipline and anti-party activities against its Board of Trustees Chairman, stated that while it seeks to reconcile the party, it will not tolerate rascality, indiscipline, or disregard for party principles.
After carefully reviewing the committee’s findings and recommendations on the expulsion of Senator Adolphus Wabara, the Abia SWC unanimously approved the  recommendation contained in the report. “Senator Adolphus Wabara is hereby expelled from the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP),in line with Article 57(3) and 59(1) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as
amended), which stipulates that an expelled member cannot exercise
any rights or privileges within the party”.
The Abia State Executive
Committee, however, recommended the immediate appointment of an
acting BoT Chairman by the National Working Committee (NWC) and
the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.
Meanwhile, Abia PDP reaffirmed its commitment to upholding party discipline and ensuring that all members operate within the framework of the PDP
Constitution (2017 as amended), adding that the party remains resolute in preserving unity, loyalty and respect for party structures. “No member, regardless of status, is above the party’s rules and regulations. We call on the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great party to act swiftly in appointing an Acting Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) in the interest of the party’s stability and in compliance with our party’s constitution”,Amah stated.
Amah equally disclosed that the Party would soon approach a court of competent jurisdiction to declare vacant the seat of the Lawmaker representing Isialangwa South State Constituency,Hon Rowland Chinwendu, following his recent defection from the PDP.
