NANS recognizes Governor Oborevwori with Hall of Fame Induction for transformative leadership in Delta

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Tuesday inducted Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, into its prestigious Hall of Fame, recognizing his significant contributions to the state’s infrastructural growth and human capital development.

This honor was bestowed during a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House in Asaba, where Comrade Lucky Emonefe, the Global President of NANS, led the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the association.

 

Emonefe, a Deltan, praised Governor Oborevwori for his remarkable development initiatives, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. He emphasized that these efforts have positively impacted Deltans and Nigerians at large, setting Oborevwori apart for this special recognition.

He assured the Governor of NANS’ continued support for the advancement of his administration’s MORE Agenda.

 

“We are aware of your good deeds in the education sector and all the other sectors of this state. On that note, the leadership of NANS has resolved to induct you into the Hall of Fame of NANS”,Emonefe said.

Acknowledging Oborevwori’s efforts to improve the state’s educational institutions, renovate health centers, and empower youth,he added, “We also thank you for your continuous payment of bursary to students of Delta State origin. On record, we are aware that you have approved two payments of bursary in one year”.

Governor Oborevwori expressed his gratitude for the honor, emphasizing that his administration remains focused on ensuring affordable, quality education for all residents of Delta State. He pledged to continue implementing policies that have a positive impact on the state’s overall development, including expanding opportunities for youth involvement in governance.

 

“It is my pleasure to welcome all of you to Government House. Your election as NANS president is a great encouragement to the student body. When I came in, I just felt that we needed to bring in the young ones. We did that so that they can be mentored by the older ones and today, they are doing very well”, the Governor remarked.

Oborevwori further highlighted his administration’s commitment to supporting over 30,000 students through bursaries, without increasing school fees, and even reducing admission fees to make education more accessible. He concluded by reiterating his focus on youth development and education as the cornerstone of his administration’s efforts.

 

“We shall continue to support our students to make it easier for them to succeed in their education”, Governor Oborevwori said.
