The League Phase of the UEFA Champions League comes to an end today with 18 matches set to be played simultaneously. There are teams that have automatically qualified for the round of 16, there are also those that might secure automatic qualification after today’s matches, there are those that will qualify for the play-off and there are those that are down and out. Sporting CP are 23rd on the table with 10 points, they will take on Bologna who are already eliminated. A very good result for the Portuguese can see them through to the play-offs.

Juventus will welcome Benfica to Turin in a clash that will most definitely be explosive. The Italians have the chance of either qualifying automatically or going through the play-offs while their opponents from Portugal are only fighting for a play-off spot.
GNK Dinamo will confront AC Milan. The Italians are certain for either automatic place or a play-off, but their opponents are fighting desperately for a play-off place.
Already eliminated Salzburg will take on Atletico Madrid who can still qualify through the play-offs or automatically.
Lille and Feyenoord are 12th and 11th respectively. No matter the outcome of their encounter both sides are certain for automatic ticket to the round of 16 or to engage in a play-off.
Aston Villa will welcome Celtic to the Villa Park with both teams sure that they cannot be eliminated, so they will be fighting for either automatic qualification or a play-off.
Girona of Spain will take on Arsenal with the Spaniards already eliminated while Arsenal will qualify automatically if they can take all three points.
Brest will lurk horns with the defending champions, Real Madrid. Both sides cannot be eliminated so they will either qualify automatically or participate in play-offs.
Remember, the first eight teams will qualify automatically while those that finished between ninth and 24th will participate in the play-offs.
The play-off will take place in the mid-week of February 11/12 for the first leg and the second leg will take place a week later.
