Prince Kanu emphasized that the road which traverses Abia North and Abia Central Senatorial Zones, is part of the present administration’s comprehensive plan to enhance road infrastructure and boost economic activities.

You will recall that late last year, in October we informed you that the State Ministry of Works have procured Nine Roads for construction and some for reconstruction.

About four or five of those roads have been flagged off, this includes the Onuimo Abia tower road, the Umuokpara Ring Road, the Ntigha-Mbawsi-Umuala road and now we are ready to commence work on the Onuinyang Okporoenyi Oboro Ikwuano road sections 1 & 2″, the Commissioner stated.

“The Governor has given matching order that that the Enyimba Hotel Project should run very fast and i can assure you that in less than 24 months, that structure will be there for use by the public.

All these efforts are to make Aba wear a new look as the economic nerve center of the State and of course the business hub of the South Eastern Nigeria”, the Commissioner disclosed.

He said that plans are in place to procure the Eziama Link Bridge in Aba adding that when completed, the bridge would enhance the City’s road network, ease movement and position Aba as a model of economic growth and development in Nigeria.

Contributing, the Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna, said that all paper works and other arrangements delaying the formal commencement of the Construction of the new Enyimba International Hotel Aba have been sorted out culminating in the planned signing of MOU with the investor.

The Governor has been trying to ensure that the agreement was signed in December but because of the protracted negotiations between the Abia State Legal Team and the team of the Investors who are coming to manage the facility, it became a bit protracted.

That was why we did not close the transaction in December but right now we are Ninety Percent done with most of the terms and I’m sure that by February 9th, we would be signing off on that agreement.

“So we are up to the final point, I assure all Abians that the terms of agreements are in-line with his Excellency’s vision of ensuring that Abia state gets maximum benefits for every relationship the Government enters into”.

Also, the General Manager, Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) Mr Uche Ukeje noted that the construction of the Enyimba International Hotel would be consumated through the signing of MOU by the Radisson Blu,an international investor in the hospitality industry
