The former chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas and Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley has applauded the Abia state governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (Ph.D) for his developmental strides in the state, adding that he has made Ukwa-Ngwa nation proud.
Fielding questions from newsmen recently in his hometown, Obohia Ndoki, Ukwa-East, Local Government Area (LGA), Abia state, Chief Stanley disclosed that Abia has experienced several positive transformation since 2015 Gov. Ikpeazu assumed office, with over 300 roads constructed across the three senatorial zones in Abia.

He also attributed the political stability in the state to the pragmatic leadership style of Gov. Ikpeazu noting that governor’s extreme achievements have sparked jealousy and envy among the opposition groups.
The former Commissioner for works in the state, pointed out that Gov. Ikpeazu stands above board; having maintained first position in the federation in Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for over three years in a series, moved Abia to third position according to National Bureau of Statistics latest ranking in terms of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and has repositioned health delivery system in the state among others.
In another development, the former federal lawmaker, frowned at the recent ‘drunkard’ comments from the senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Smart Adeyemi on Gov. Ikpeazu, maintaining that it is unacceptable.
“Anybody casting aspersion on our dear governor must be a nonentity and ill-informed, as he has performed creditably”, he added.
Rt. Hon. Stanley who described Senator Adeyemi as a demeanor, further noted that he acted below the rank of a Councilor and must unreservedly apologized to the Abia governor and Abians as well.
However, the Ndoki-born politician, who decried the poor road infrastructures within the oil-rich Ukwa region of the state appealed for a multiple level of compensation from the federal and state government to ameliorate the hardship and pollution in the area.
“Palliative works were carried out on our roads during the burial ceremonies of our late brother, Hon. Solomon Ogunji (Ph.D) as well as Chief Stanley’s late mother. When the rains start coming, the entire Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West LGA would be locked up again due to bad roads with its attendant economic hardships”, he highlighted
