EPL: Liverpool, Fulham Win As Arsenal Stumble

Liverpool fought extremely hard to secure a 2-0 victory over hard fighting Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Substitute Darwin Nunez scored a brace in stoppage time to give the league leaders their first league win in 2025.

The Uruguay hit-man opened scoring in the 91st minute after meeting Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low cross. Nunez scored again two minutes later to ensure the Reds take all three points.

Fulham confined Leicester City to the relegation zone after they stormed the King Power Stadium and took all three points with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City.

Making his 100th appearance in the Premier League, Emile Smith Rowe opened scoring just after the break with a diving header.

Substitute, Adama Traore confirmed that Fulham will take the three points when his side-footed volley flew into the bottom corner.

Leicester City have now lost seven straight Premier League matches and have remained 19th on the table, thereby pilling more pressure on manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Jean-Philippe Mateta’s brace gave Crystal Palace a 2-0 victory over West Ham United. Mateta latched on to Eberechi Eze’s text-book pass to give Palace the lead, early in the second half.

Lukas Fabianski fouled Eddie Nketiah in the box two minutes to full time and Mateta converted the resulting penalty to seal the victory for Crystal Palace.

West Ham was reduced to 10-men in the 80th minute when Konstantinos Mavropanos was shown a second yellow card after he grappled with Mateta and then launched a high boot into his face.

Arsenal failed to keep up pace with leaders Liverpool as they dropped two points at home after they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Aston Villa.

Gabriel Martinelli gave the Gunners the lead in the 35th minute. The home side seemed to be coasting home to victory when Kai Havertz doubled their lead in the 55th minute.

But, Aston Villa fought back and on the hour-mark Youri Tieleman pulled one back for the visitors. Eight minutes later, Ollie Watkins netted the equalizer.
