Akwa Ibom To Host 2025 NIPR Week

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has announced plans to hold its 2025 week in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State by May.

Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya who announced this on Friday during a courtesy visit on the Permanent Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Information, Akparawa James Edet hinted that the event will attract an estimated 1,500–2,000 public relations professionals, policymakers, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and other stakeholders to the state.

He said the Week themed: “Solid Minerals: A Solid Path to Nigeria’s Economic Recovery, will place Akwa Ibom on the global map as a hub for meaningful dialogue and solutions to the nation’s economic and developmental challenges.

According to him, “Experts in solid minerals and government officials, including the Ministers of Solid Minerals and Information, will discuss the potential of Nigeria’s different solid mineral resources, with Akwa Ibom as a focal point.”

The chairman also said there would an ” investiture of Governor Umo Eno as the Patron of NIPR and a special Traditional Rulers’ engagement aimed at bridging the gap between traditional institutions and the PR profession to foster improved relationship management.”

Welcoming the delegation, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Akparawa Edet, expressed gratitude to the NIPR for selecting Akwa Ibom as the host state. He commended the institute for its vision and commitment to national development, describing Akwa Ibom as the perfect location for such a high-profile event.

“Akwa Ibom State has become a destination of choice for conferences and strategic gatherings due to deliberate planning, visionary leadership, and sustainable programs. Our state is enriched with a good blend of road, water, and air infrastructure,” Edet stated.

He assured the visiting team of the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with the LOC to ensure a seamless and memorable NIPR Week.

Earlier, the Chairman of NIPR, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Mr Manasseh Umoette said the state won the bid to host the weeklong event due to its well-known peaceful nature and assured that the chapter will do all within its powers to ensure a successful hosting of the event.

Our correspondent reports a tour of Ibom hall, the proposed venue for the event by the Committee Chairman, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, Akwa Ibom  NIPR Chairman, Mr Manasseh Umoette, Chairman Local Organizing Committee, Dr Uduak Obot , represented by Vice Chairman1, Comrade Amos Etuk and members of the Local Organizing Committee.
