Abia’s New HOS Charges Staff on Integrity, Trust, and Expedited Service Delivery

Civil servants in Abia State have been charged with upholding integrity and trust in the discharge of their duties.

The new Head of Service, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, who gave the charge during his maiden meeting with staff of the inner office of the Head of Service, maintained that the importance of integrity, professionalism, and expedited service delivery cannot be overemphasized.

Mr. Ojeikere, who identified trust as a fundamental component of effective service delivery, stressed the need for staff to earn and maintain the trust of the public.

While also emphasizing the need for sacrifice and dedication, he urged the staff to put the interests of the state and its citizenry above personal interests.

Mr. Ojeikere, who described the office of the Head of Service as the heartbeat of the Service, noted that, as such, it should be a pacesetter in providing efficient and effective service delivery. He further stated that staff should be willing to make sacrifices to achieve the set goals of the government.

The Head of Service appreciated the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for finding him fit to serve as the arrowhead of the Service, while soliciting the unreserved loyalty and cooperation of the entire civil/public servants in achieving the transformation policies of the present administration.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of Information, Office of the Head of Service, Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, who expressed gratitude to the Head of Service for his words of encouragement and guidance to strive for excellence, assured him of their absolute support and loyalty.
