The lawmaker representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Chris Nkwonta has felicitated one of his constituents, Barr. Helen Jumbo for bagging a PhD in renewable energy law.
In a Press Release from the Head of Media and Communications in his office, Dr. Chidi Nwankpa, he described Miss Jumbo as a passionate scholar who defiled her virtual impairment to distinguish herself in academics.
Nkwonta revealed that Jumbo is one of the Pioneer beneficiaries of Chris Nkwonta Foundation Scholarship Program, stating that she has made Ndoki and Ukwa people proud.
In his words: “Helen Jumbo is a very intelligent visually impaired Lady from Obunku, Ikwueke West Ward, Ukwa East LGA, Abia State.
“The Foundation sponsored her in University of Nigeria, Nsuka (UNN) where she studied Law and made First Class. Accordingly, the Foundation promptly sponsored her in the Nigerian Law School where she also performed excellently.
“Hellen later got a scholarship from NLNG for her Masters abroad.
“She has just graduated from University of Aberdeen with a Ph.D in Renewable Energy Law”, he further stated and concluded that Human Capital Development will continue to be a top priority in his service to the People of Ukwa, Abia State and Nigeria in general.
