Abia State Police Command, arrests, parades 162 suspects.

 

Abia State Police Command has paraded 142 male and 20 female suspects recently arrested during its operations in the State for various crimes ranging from, armed robbery, kidnapping, vandalism of Government properties, child trafficking, rape, and defilement among others

The Commissioner of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemelie who paraded the suspects before the newsmen over the weekend at the Commands headquarters Umuahia, said most of the suspects and cases had been charged to Court to enable quick dispensation of justice

The Commissioner who spoke through the Public relations Officer Asp Maureen Chinaka said various exhibits recovered include; 16 locally made firearms of different specifications, 13 live cartridges, 7 vehicles and motorcycles, railroad sleepers, substances suspected to be illicit drugs, mobile phones among others, including 6 trafficked Children and 4 Kidnapped Victims were successfully rescued.

The Commissioner urged the public to continues to support the Commands efforts in maintaining peace and security in the State.

Some of the suspects who were arrested by the Police, according to the PPRO, include Innocent Nwaeze (29 years) Uchenna Nwoko(32 years) Uzoma Erondo (44 years) Chinyere Nwaja (45 years) and Benjamin Ukaegbu (62 years).

Others are Kingsley Emmanuel (22 years) Atuloma Emmanuel (20 years) among others.

One of the suspected motorcycle thief who identified himself as Amadikwa Chigozie from Imo state but resident of Aba, confessed his participation in the theft of a motorcycle but pleaded for forgiveness.
