Wife of Abia Deputy Gov. (C) who represented the wife Abia Governor Mrs. Presilla Otti during the visit at victims of Need Social Home Aba.
In consonance with the commemoration of the one year anniversary of Dr. Alex Otti as the Governor of Abia state, the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has visited the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy Compassionate Home Ahiaeke Ndume, and So Said Charity Home Foundation Ubakala, in Umuahia the state capital and made donations of cash, bags of rice, cartons of noodles and spaghetti, crates of soft drinks, snacks, cartons of groundnut oil, and diapers to the homes.
Also visited were the Victims of Needs Social Home and the Special Education for the Deaf and Mentally Challenged both in Aba, the commercial hub of the state where she made similar donations and cuts the anniversary cake with the homes.
The Governor’s wife represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Emetu said that the visit was to encourage the victims, show them love and to let them know that they are not alone.
She described the administration of Governor Otti as an inclusive one despite the challenges of state building is poised to support the less privileged, identify their challenges and midwifes opportunities for them to feel the resonance of the new Abia.
In their separate speeches, the Reverend Sister in charge of the DMMM compassionate home Ahiaeke, Rev. Sister Maria Ogbonna and the founder, So Said Charity Home Foundation Ubakala, Mrs. Felicia Martins, thanked the Governors wife for remembering the less privileged and not neglecting them.
They praised Governor Otti for making a difference and changing the narratives in Abia state.
Meanwhile, in Aba, the Principal of the Special Education for the Mentally Challenged, Mrs. Madubuko Ijeoma and the Chief Director, Victims of Needs Social Home, Mrs. Von Obiagbunam said that this is the first time government is coming to their support.
According to them, it shows that this administration led by Governor Alex Otti is in the right direction.
“We have not only had but have seen with our own eyes the interventions and progress recorded so far by this administration, we will keep praying for sustainability and for the success of this administration” Mrs. Von said.
However, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Vulnerable Groups, Mrs. Ifeoma Thomas said that the Governor’s wife has demonstrated her concern for the welfare of the vulnerable by making donations and encouraged the caregivers not to relent in their services to God and humanity.
