The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has applauded the mayor of Bende LGA Barrister Chijioke Nwankwo for working effortlessly to reposition his council.
Mrs. Otti who was on a working visit to Itumbauzo mental home branched the council headquarters to ascertain the ongoing renovations embarked by the mayor.
According to her, ” what I have seen here today is phenomenal, the sporting complex, the reticulated water borehole, total renovations of the council headquarters has shown that the mayor is honestly replicating the Governor Alex Otti’s developmental agenda in the rural area”
The successful of this administration largely depends on the mayors following in the footsteps of the Governor to holistically make Abia the number one state in the country.
Meanwhile, Governor Otti has reiterated in several fora that the level of work embarked by the mayors to transform the rural areas in line with the new Abia will determine the level of support they will get from him.

Earlier, the council mayor, Barrister Chijioke Nwankwo had explained that the council is wearing a new looks now because of the level of support they received from the governor.
“When we assumed office, the council was in such a deplorable state and we immediately swung into action.
“We are not limiting our transformation to renovations in the council, we are touching lives, creating access roads in the rural communities, supporting farmers with improved seedlings, sensitising our youths on dangers of drug abuse and channelling their energies in a sustainable practices through skills acquisition to enhance their future positively” Nwankwo stated.
However, the mayor solicits for more funds to continue implementing the Governor Otti’s change mantra in the rural area.
He commends the Governor’s wife for choosing to visit the council, adding that the visit has encouraged them not to fail in delivering dividends of democracy to the good people of Bende LGA.
